Emerald Empire Reading Council


Chartered in 1963

The Emerald Empire Reading Council (EERC) is one of 12 local councils of the Oregon Reading Association (ORA) and the International Reading Association (IRA). It is the third oldest council in the state.

We currently have over 400 members ranging from kindergarten teachers through university professors as well as teaching specialistists, retired teachers, and adminsitrators. We also are fortunate to have as non educators who are committed to our goal of promoting literacy.

Monthly Meetings

The EERC Board
meets on the second
Thursday of the month
(except December, July, and August) at the Oregon Electric Station Restaurant
4:30 p.m.

We have great snacks and good conversation
