Course Description: Workshop credit is offered to qualified post-baccalaureate participants of the Fifth Annual Literacy Conference, which is co-sponsored by the Emerald Empire Reading Council (local affiliate of the International Reading Association), the Oregon Writing Project of the University of Oregon. Requirements:
(1) Attend a full day of sessions (6 hours);
(2) Engage in lunch-time discussions; summarize in reflective log (1 hour);
(3) Attend extended conference session (before and after)to discuss requirements and plan for follow-up assignments (1 hour);
(4) Participate in extended email discussion during follow-up activities (2 hours);
(5) Complete follow-up reading and apply strategies in classroom practices; submit written reflections, lesson plans, and student examples (20 hours).
